OMATS - Hemingway Biography

1. Go to http://www.lostgeneration.com/childhood.htm. Read about the author of The Old Man and the Sea, Ernest Hemingway. Read EACH section of the biography (be sure to click the arrows on the bottom until you read the section called “The Last Days”).
 As you read the biography, take notes. Note the events that influenced Hemingway’s writing.

2. Read about Ernest Hemingway’s writing style, the” Iceberg Theory”. Visit the following links and search for more if you do not understand the concept. Search for images of “icebergs” and study the connection between what you see and Hemingway’s writing style.
