The Lost Dutchman Mine
Deep in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona lies a lost gold mine. Whoever finds it will be very rich. It is called the Lost Dutchman Mine. The Sutchman was Jacob Waltz. He lived 100 years ago. He was a prospector. A prospector is someone who searches for gold and minerals. Waltz would ride his burro to twon after weeks in the mountains. He always had plenty of money. He bragged that it came from his gold mine miles away. Just before he died, Waltz told where his secret gold mine could be found. He said it had enough gold to make 20 people very rich. Waltz said to watch for a rock that looks like a man. But no one has been able to find it yet! You see, those mountains are very rugged. They are nicknamed the "Death Mountains." During the summer, the heat reaches 100 degrees or more. Hundreds of people have become lost or have died from thirst and accidents. Still, people keep searching.
