Interrupters - Transitions, Direct Addresses, and Non-Essential Information

Commas should go before and after interrupters...

Transitions are like interrupters, that interrupt the sentence before it even starts, so they need to be followed by a comma when they come before the subject of the sentence.

Direct Addresses are interrupters that interrupt dialogue by directly addressing or calling out someone's name or nickname.

Non-essential information is extra information inserted into a sentence sort of interrupting its flow.
