ACT PREP PRACTICE (PRONOUNS)--SEPTEMBER 26, 2017

Pronouns take the place of nouns. Pronouns include the words I, we, she, him, them, my, their, whose.

A pronoun must clearly refer to its antecedent.

Pronouns can be in the subjective, objective or possessive case. Subjective pronouns are used as the subject of a sentence or clause, or refer to the subject. Objective nouns are the object of a verb or preposition. Possessive nouns show possession.

A pronoun may be singular or plural.

A singular pronoun referring to a third person may be masculine, feminine, or neuter. All other pronouns, including plural pronouns, are neuter.

Each pronoun must agree in number (singular or plural) and gender (male, female, or neuter for the third-person singular) with the noun, noun phrase, or pronoun it refers to.

Choose the correct replacement for the underlined part in each sentence. If the underlined part is the best, then select NO CHANGE.
