The Three Fish Comprehension

There were once three fish that lived in a beautiful river that flowed through wild country. They were named Carp, Cod, and Trout. The three of them were very happy in their river. Their shiny scales glittered in the clear water.

One day, the three fish wanted an adventure. They swam far up the winding river to a town. When they arrived, Carp looked around. He told his friends, "There is danger all about us here. Fishermen come to the river to catch fish with all sorts of different nets and lines. Let us go back home where we were safe."

But Cod and Trout were tired after their long swim. Cod said, "It is too much work to swim all the way back down the river right now. We must stay a while and rest under this nice rock and see what this place has to offer. Here we will be safe." Trout agreed.

Cod and Trout fell asleep for a short time. When they woke up, they did not see Carp anywhere and forgot all about his warning. They were curious, so they set out to explore. They did not see a fisherman's net in the water nearby, and so they were very surprised when suddenly they found themselves caught in it.

"Help!" Cod and Trout cried. Luckily, Carp heard their cries and arrived to find his friends stuck in the net.

"I must save them!" he said.

Carp swam close to the shore where the fisherman stood. He leaped out of the water with all his strength. The fisherman was startled to see a fish leap from the river. He jumped back, slipped, and dropped the net.

Cod and Trout slipped out of the net and swam away with their friend Carp.

"You saved our lives, Carp." Trout said. "We were foolish to have ignored you earlier. This place can be very dangerous for a fish."

"We're very lucky to have a wise friend like you," said Cod.

"Let us go home where we can be safe," said Carp.

And they all swam as fast as they could back to the wild country. Here they lived safely and happily ever after.
