Organic naming and formula writing is VERY different from what we have learned before. It's all about carbon chains and how long they are and what they have attached to them and where they are attached!

Do your best to teach yourself the "secret code." AND BE PATIENT WITH YOURSELF. This organic naming powerpoint tutorial

(or the pdf version of it), will prove helpful in answering the following questions.

The naming answers must be perfect! You will be allowed to change your answers after you submit them.

For the photos of the models, the code is as follows:

black = carbon
(but you should have known that)

orange = fluorine

green = chlorine
(in the photos, these are very dark and almost look black!)

yellow = bromine

purple = iodine
(in the photos, these look dark blue)

Also know that the hydrogens are all left off to simplify things.
