Saber v Conocer - Chabot

Both "saber" and "conocer" mean "to know" - but they are used in different ways.

"Saber" is used to say that you know: that... / why... / when.... / where... /how much....

"Saber" is used to say that you "know HOW" to do something... just follow with an infinitive: Yo sé tocar el piano. Él sabe cocinar.

"Conocer" is more like "being familiar with/being acquainted with", so it's mostly about knowing a person. ( use personal A )... sometimes, knowing a place.

Conozco al señor García. =I know Mr. Garcia.
John conoce la ciudad de Chicago. =John knows the city of Chicago
