Directions to the student:

1. Take up to four (4) minutes to read the directions and prompts, and choose one of the prompts to complete the task.
2. You may jot down a few words on the prompt to help you respond, but do not write a script.
3. Take up to five (5) minutes to complete the task. You can stop recording before the five (5) minutes are up if you are finished.
4. You may look at the prompt as you speak.
5. Raise your hand if you are having difficulty with the recording and wait quietly for your teacher’s help.
6. Do not stop or pause the recording until you have finished the speaking task.
7. State “I am finished” before you stop the recording.

IMPORTANT! Give the following information before beginning the speaking task

 Your student number
 Your class period
 The letter of the prompt you choose (A or B)
