PHET CELL TRANSPORT AND NEURON SIMULATION Activity
YOU MAY NEED TO REFER TO YOUR NOTES OUTLINES 1.3 AND 1.4 TO HELP YOU ANSWER THE QUESTIONS ALONG WITH THE SIMULATION
1. Open a new tab in this browser, Copy and paste and Go to the following link: http://phet.colorado.edu/en/simulation/membrane-channels and then click “Download.” Choose to save to the desktop.
2. Open the downloaded file when it is done. Click any dialog box yes or accept.
3. Now your will go back and forth between the simulation and the quia quiz questions. to conduct the simulated lab and answer questions. On the simulation, Click “Show Concentrations” on the right-hand side of the screen that pops up to see the levels of each ion on each side of the cell membrane.
4. Answer in complete sentences, such as; "Yes the green ions could pass through the green leakage channel, not just YES." This simulation is about the cell acting as a neuron cell firing.
5. Click save for later if you do not finish by the end of class. You will finish tomorrow.
