Sequencing #1

It was time to choose a Jack'o lantern pumpkin to carve. The family went out to the pumpkin field to choose just the right pumpkin. Pete wanted a tall, narrow pumpkin to carve a skull. Sue wanted a large, fat pumpkin to carve a happy face. Janie wanted a small pumpkin she could carve herself. They looked over all the pumpkins but could not find a single one they all wanted. The farmer smiled and gave the family a special price on three pumpkins.
When they got home again, the children spread a layer of newspapers on the floor. Dad used a knife to cut a hole in the top. They all worked to clean the seeds out of the pumpkins, and then they drew faces on the outside. While Dad helped cut out the faces, Mom washed the pumpkin seeds. When they were clean, she poured oil on a cookie sheet, salted the seeds, and put them in the oven to roast. By the time it was dark and the candles in the pumpkins were ready to light, the pumpkin seeds were ready to eat.
