Blood Culture Procedure

Practice putting the procedure in the correct order! (There may be some room for flexibility between steps 2 and 3 depending upon your own workflow and speed!)
Remember, sterile collection of the specimen is important here. A separate prep pad per B/C bottle. Anerobic-Aerobic-Anerobic and keep series separate (#1, #1, #1 or 1X, 1X, 1X)!
Remember, the most important steps are: Cleaning the site, cleaning the bottle tops (one prep pad each!) and labeling each series (#1, #1, #1 or 1x, 1x, 1x).
