SAT-Explicit Details

If the main idea of a passage is a table top, the explicit details are the legs. Explicit details are the facts
that support the main idea. The word explicit here means that the details are clearly stated with truth and certainty, which means explicit details WILL be supported by the text. You should not have to draw conclusions or take educated guesses for explicit detail questions since you should be able to find the answers right there in the text. If you can literally put your finger on the answer, you are probably looking at an explicit detail question. You are looking for FACTS and TRUE STATEMENTS to the questions.
Expect 1-2 explicit detail questions per reading passage and about 5-7 questions for the exam.
