American History Class Survey

I need your imput on how to improve our class. By evaluating how effective different activities are, I can decide what to expand upon and what to eliminate.

  1. Choose two of your most dominant learning styles.*
    Visual - I remember pictures, diagrams, maps, film clips, etc.
    Auditory - I remember what people tell me better than what I read.
    Kinistetic - I learn from doing. It is easier for me to remember things if I have worked on them with my own hands.
    Literary- I remember things better when I read them than when I hear them.


  1. There are five social studies objectives for the 8th grade. Rank the following objectives in the order in which you feel you are strongest to weakest - 1 being strongest - five weakest.*

    Objective 1 - The student will demonstrate an uderstanding of issues and events in U.S. History ( this means you have memorized important facts.  
    Objective 2 - The student will demonstrate an understanding of geographic influences on historical issues and events. (You understand maps and the way that the geography of a place effects how people live.)  
    Objective 3 - The student will demonstrate an understanding of economic and social influences on historical events and issues. (This means that you understand how money and society effect the reasons people do things.)  
    Objective 4 - The student will demonstrate an understanding of ploitical influences on historical issues and events. (Did you understand about political parties and their effect on how the country was run?)  
    Objective 5 - The student will use critical thinking skills to analyze social studies information. (This skill is tested with analyzing quotes and political cartoons).  


  1. Write a paragraph telling me what you think we can do to improve our class. Include what activities you think I should include and which activities I should eliminate. Can you suggest activities you've learned a lot from in classes from prior years?
