Leadership Characteristics

Studies of leaders have found that most effective leaders share common personal characteristics. It is possible to determine if you have those characteristics and to develop a personal plan to improve those characteristics that are not as strong as you would like. You can evaluate your leadership characteristics by answering the following questions. For each question, insert a check mark in the appropriate column. Questions that you answer “always” or “usually” indicate areas where you already have developed leadership skills. The areas where you answer “sometimes” or “never” indicate traits you will need to improve if you are to become a more effective leader.
