PATH Home BACKUP

This is an "Exploration" of a Backup plan should PATH not be able to meet in a building this upcoming season for any length of time. It is important to note this is just in the idea stage at this point.

PATH would ensure all homes are safe, that Zoom is available for students who wish not attend in person, and the schedule would be tweaked to allow some time travelling to and fro. It will be difficult and challenging to be sure, however some classes, such as Science or English are essential to be "outsourced to PATH" and it may be worth it from time to time.


  1. If PATH were unable to meet in person for COVID-19 related reasons, would you support a restructured schedule that met in select homes?

    Our facility may be required by the state to shut down OR make decisions that affect all non formal ministry groups. Our numbers are large enough that we may simply be unable to meet, depending on the guidelines.

  1. We are looking for backup homes that are large enough to hold 10-12 students. If your home can host 10-12 students on one floor, 10 on another, even better! So if your home can be a host site *in the event of a sudden closure due to COVID-19 AND in the event it is safe to host* Mark "yes" below.

    Here's the deal - larger facilities are under more pressure to follow blanket guidelines. They have to count all 70 students at PATH, and will feel legally liable for illness/sickness. They have to play it safe. Home gatherings of "10" in a "deemed safe" manner are easier to do, therefore.

    Now for the big ASK - this is only about your house being a host site. Available?

    The "backup plan of all backup plans" is to consider holding PATH in homes, altering the schedule to allow some time for driving.

    Does this sound fun? NO ha ha. Not at all. Who wants to drive their kid all day here and there and arrange rides? Which would you rather do - teach High School level complexity Chemistry lab, or drive? Gotcha ha ha! Just kidding there. But remember, it's just a backup, and we anticipate it would not be "forever". And we also anticipate allowing kids to "Zoom In" if they felt that was the safest alternative.
