|
- Compared to other AP classes that I have taken, the homework load in AP Spanish is....
(Skip this question if you haven't taken other AP classes)*
|
- I used Leer por Placer time effectively and feel it has helped my language proficiency grow (wider vocabulary, reading comprehension etc)
|
- AP class - what it looks like. There are vastly different approaches to teaching AP Spanish class depending on the school/teacher. The two extremes would be:
1) weed out weak students, AP test success is what drives the class, AP test prep every single day with the 'strongest of the strong' students who remain
2) focus is on building language skills in 4 areas, cultural projects, debates, movies/videos, chats; no emphasis on AP test or test practice until cramming for it in April/May.
I (Mrs. VB) decided to take the 'middle of the road' approach and tried to balance building language skills while at the same time thinking about and preparing for AP test down the road.
What's your take on what the class has been like? Too heavy on test focus? Not heavy enough? Not enough cultural stuff? Too much....? I would love your honest (but remember I am human) feedback.

- Anything else you'd like to share/suggest that you think would help Mrs. VB as we continue on to 2nd semester?
