Subject: Let’s Stand Together for Fairness and Transparency in Shadowbrook

Dear Shadowbrook Residents,

I am writing to share concerns that affect all of us. Recently, I observed an alleged injustice in how our neighborhood management handles fines. Two neighbors had their fines dropped after showing receipts proving they purchased materials to fix issues—yet in my case, despite similar efforts, the fine remains. Why the inconsistency?

Even more troubling, those neighbors didn’t need Board intervention, yet I was advised to contact a Board member while being told, ‘There is no agenda to favor or disadvantage anyone.’ Such mixed messages create confusion and conflict instead of resolution.

We’ve also seen management companies insult residents and even take them to court, forcing families to pay over $2,000 in legal fees. Add to this the practice of saying one thing on the phone and writing another in email, and denying cabana rentals despite no covenant restrictions—without offering a fair solution like winterization costs.

Proposed Solutions:
1. Allow residents to vote on a policy imposing a 10–30% fine for unpaid association fees instead of costly court actions.
2. Consider an additional $200–$300 annual fee so a professional company maintains all landscaping, eliminating arbitrary fines based on unclear standards.

Let’s take action to prevent future harassment and ensure fairness for every homeowner. Together, we can create a community built on respect, transparency, and equity.
