Tech Class Survey - Classroom Supplies
My objective is to gauge how adequate your classroom supplies are and determine how much of your own money is spent yearly, on the supplies, equipment, materials you need that are not provided by your school/district.
- How long have you been teaching?
- What grade/(s) do you currently teach? If you are not currently teaching, please select the response that best describes your previous teaching experience.
- Does your school/district provide you with a budget for supplies/materials/equipment? If you answer no to this question, skip to question #6.
- How much is your classroom budget, that is provided by school/district, for the school year?
- Does this budget cover all of the supplies/materials/equipment that you need for the school year?
- If you do not have a budget, or if your budget does not cover all of your supply/material/equipment needs, how do you make up for this? (Select all answers that apply)
- If you selected "I pay for the supplies out of my own pocket" as an answer to the above question, what would you estimate is the dollar amount you spend annually, on school supplies/materials/equipment?
- In comparison to previous years, do you spend more, or less, of your own money each year that you teach?
- Is there a second income in your household that contributes to this out of pocket expense?
- What type of supplies do you replenish most often, regardless of how you acquire them (pay for them out of pocket, get donations, district budget provides, etc.)? (Rank in order with "1" being the most replenished and "8" being the least replenished)
- Have you found that you spend your own money on supplies/materials/equipment that are similar to items you can obtain using your school/district budget?
- If you answered "yes" to the above, what were your reasons for doing so? (Select all answers that apply)
- Would you agree, or disagree, that the supplies/materials/equipment that you obtain outside your school/district budget, contributes to student success? (a "3" would indicate you neither agree or disagree.)
- What has been your experience with I Love Schools.com (or other web sites that connect private donors to US schools and teachers to help provide supplies, equipment, materials they cannot obtain through normal channels)?
