Unified CTE Conference

In the thought of developing a unified CTE conference, I am curious to know when your county fairs are and your involvement. Please answer the following questions in order to get a good idea of when the conference should/could be held.

FYI: Ag Ed Conference, FCS Conference, Industrial Tech. Conferences would merge to conduct ONE Unified Conference. The disciplines (Ag, Bus, FCS, etc.) would conduct many sessions/workshops seperately, but would pull together to share the costs of keynote speaker(s) and conduct their conferences in the same city/hotel at the same time. [Missouri has had a unified conference for decades, and they typically have teacher attendance of roughly 3,000 each year!]

    Involved
    Somewhat involved

  1. I like the IDEA of gathering many more CTE instructors at one place at one time; assuming that portions of the Unified Conference would be seperate and discipline specific (Ag Ed, Bus, FCS, etc.)
    Yes
    No

  1. I see legislative benefits to conducting ONE VERY LARGE conference, rather than seperate discipline conferences. (Note: As a % of instructors in the discipline, Ag Ed has the largest conference attendance.)

  1. The "Unified Conference" of the mid-80s, was a top down process. This unified conference attempt would be a grassroots effort to gain instructor input.
In my opinion, a Unified Conference COULD work.
In my opinion, a Unified Conference will NEVER work.
