Licensure - High School Ag Ed

The requirements for becoming an agriculture teacher in Iowa have not been updated for about three decades. In addition to the professional education core the requirements are:
Completion of twenty-four semester hours in agriculture to include course work in
agronomy,
animal science,
agricultural mechanics, and
agricultural economics.

A course in the methods of teaching agriculture is also required in addition to the 24 hours.
