- National FFA should review CDE content to ensure that they "directly" reflect the knowledge and skills in the National Agricultural Education Standards and Benchmarks.
- Assessment of Technical Skill Attainment should be part of Career Development Events.
- If needed, Career Development Events should be revised so that ALL are CDEs, not contests.
- Personally, I feel the following National CDEs should be significantly revised to reflect concepts taught in the typical agricultural education course.
- Personally, the following CDE(s) are difficult to understand how to best prepare students; when the instructor has not "personally" competed in this event.
- We need more video-based examples of how CDEs are conducted
(i.e., via www.Youtube.com)
- CDEs should be revised so that "Teaching to the Test" is logical, and important. "Teaching to the Test" will better prepare students for careers in the Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources industry.
...or...
"Teaching to the CDE" represent teaching the knowledge and skills needed by future members of the AFNR industry.
- "Teaching to the CDE" does NOT currently make sense in the following CDEs.
[In the big scheme of life..."Teaching to this particular CDE"... IN CLASS...may help prepare students to win, but does not prepare them for career success in an AFNR career pathway.]
- In my opinion, the following CDEs should be merged into ONE CDE.
- In my opinion, the following CDEs should be separated to create TWO unique CDEs.
