Wanted: Local Advisor Input
Please invest a few minutes to provide advice for the National FFA Career Development Event Committees. This information will be shared with National FFA CDE Committee chairs.
To maintain or improve the quality of our events, we need input from local advisors (practitioners).

- Standards and Benchmarks:
National FFA CDE Committees should review CDE content to ensure that CDEs reflect knowledge and skills in the NEW National Agricultural Education Content Standards and Benchmarks.

- Technical Skill Attainment:
Career Development Events should be designed to enhance local instructor(s) ability to teach and assess critical agricultural knowledge and skills.
|
- Student Achievement:
It would be a benefit, if National FFA CDEs could ALSO be utilized to assess/measure Technical Skill Attainment (as described in Federal Perkins law).

- CDEs vs. Contests:
National FFA CDEs should be reviewed to ensure that CDEs emphasize the evaluation of knowledge and skills required in AGRICULTURAL CAREERS.

- In my opinion, the following CDE(s) function as CONTESTS rather than Career Development Events (CDE).
