- Content: How well did the student achieve their goal? After this student’s presentation, are you left with an understanding of why unit #2 can be skidder yarded and why unit #1 requires a system of tree removal that can only work with helicopter yarding?*
- Were these words evident in the student’s presentation? 40 foot contour lines; topographic map; skidder, helicopter; cable yarder; streams; Bureau of Land Management (BLM); road access; erosion; fish habitat; rise over run; grade (which is a percent); elevation; turn. Words that should not be present: slope and altitude.*
- Presentation: We have worked on all of the following techniques of public speaking and all should be evident in their presentations: eye contact; appropriate volume; hands out of pockets; orientation (are they facing you?); lack of filler words (“uh” “um” or “like”); no gum; lack of awkward pauses or obvious stalling for time. How did they do? *
- Differentiation: How well did the student differentiate their presentation from others with the same content? How creative was their presentation? How interesting or enjoyable was their presentation?*
- Overall: Assuming that you are looking for a safe and profitable place to park your cash, and based on this student’s singular presentation, how comfortable would you be parking $500,000 with this person? Does this person project confidence and mastery of the content? *
