Quality and Chanage Management - Masters Degree Survey
As part of a Masters Degree in Management Studies I am investigating the process we are taking, and have taken, at Thanet College to improve from a “Satisfactory” College. I am taking the OfSTED Framework and reporting as my starting point as it represents the public report of our quality.
I would grateful if you could spend approximately 10 - 15 minutes to assist in my research by completing the following questionnaire. I want to assess what drives quality, and to what extent we at Thanet College are involved in the process of improvement.

- OfSTED use a device called The Common Inspection Framework which defines the requirements of the Learning and Skills Act 2000 in measuring Quality. The Framework sets out the principles applicable to the inspection of post-16 non-higher education and training carried out under Part lll of the Act. Inspections are carried out by the Office for Standards in Education (OfSTED).
The Common Inspection Framework applies to schools, colleges, providers of work-based learning, adult and community learning, Learndirect, welfare to work programmes, prisons and other centres of adult learning.
Ofsted inspect 4 areas each educational establishment:
1. Overall Effectiveness,
2. Achievement and Standards
3. Quality of Provision
4. Leadership and Management
A common grading scale is used in making judgements for institutional inspection.
Grade 1 Outstanding
Grade 2 Good
Grade 3 Satisfactory
