Sixth Grade Project Selection

Sixth grade will be working on making a difference in the Glen Allen, Short Pump community this spring. We will be adopting a project for our grade level based on your selection in this survey. Please read the descriptions below to help you with your choice. Both projects are great so there is not a wrong choice. We want to hear from you.

#1 The Coal Pit Learning Center is located in Glen Allen. It was founded in 1976 as a not for profit preschool for children of low income parents. Children from three to five receive an early start learning needed skills for elementary school and they also receive help with nutritional needs. If you pick this project you will be collecting items such as snacks, paper plates, cups, forks, spoons, and art supplies.

#2 The Henrico Humane Society is a volunteer organization that works to provide shelter for homeless animals through a foster care system. The goal of the society is to find permanent homes for the animals. The Humane Society needs dog food, cat food, puppy pads, rawhide treats, and kitty litter.

There is not a right or wrong choice. You can make a difference in our community by supporting whichever project your class decides to do. Remember when you help locally you are helping the whole world.
