There should NOT be any flexible use of Staff Development time in HCPS. Staff Development should be held in schools according to the days listed on the HCPS calendar.
There should be some flexible use of time allowed for Staff Development days. If teachers log their Staff Development hours for PLCS and other professional development, then they should be allowed to use the time on Staff Development days for clerical work in their building.
Maximum use of flexible time should be allowed for Staff Development in HCPS. If teachers log their Staff Development hours for PLCS and other professional development, then they should NOT be required to report to school on Staff Development days (if they have already logged time in Staff Development).
When a decision is made regarding flexible use of Staff Development time in HCPS, it should be (select ONE answer):
*
consistent across all schools in the county
a school-based decision
If some flexibility for Staff Development days is approved, what suggestions do you have for monitoring and managing this?
