Student Survey 2009 - 2010 End of year

Please complete this survey to let me know how I did for you this year. Be completely honest, I will take the compliments and the criticism to make myself a better teacher. Thank you so much for giving me your very best! I am so proud of you!

Name

  1. Please rate your current "love of science" score: choose two
Out of this world, awesome! LOVE it!
    One of my favorite subjects.
    It's pretty interesting.
I can take it or leave it.
I've had some bad experiences and don't like it at all.
I turned into a nerd this year and I love it!
Nice try, but I still don't care for science.

  1. What has your experience with science been so far? choose the one "closest" one
My family and I love science and we love to talk about it and include science in our fun time.
I watch science programs like NOVA and other programs on the DISCOVERY channel.
I find myself asking "Why" and "How" about things, and I like to figure stuff out. I sometimes do "experiments" at home.
My science experience pretty much has been limited to school activities.
I know nothing, NOTHING.... What is science anyways?
My family has more interest in science since I've been in your class.

  1. How did you learn best? Choose up to four.
I learned best by watching something.
    I learned best by reading.
I learned best by hearing about something.
I learned best by doing something.
I learned best by discussing or debating something.
I learned best by solving a problem about something.
I learned best by working with others and adding to their ideas.
I learned best by working alone.
I learned best while getting ready for the test.
I learned best during or after the test.

  1. How did you like my projects? choose two, please
Wow! Projects rock my world! I love seeing what I can create and put together to "show what I know"!
I like projects. I can use them to help get better grades. I also learn by doing them.
Projects are alright. I don't like to get started until the last minute, but then I do pretty well.
I'd rather do other things than projects. They're ok, but I don't feel confident in what I do, and they don't usually help my grade.
Projects? We have to do projects? Mooooooooom! Get me outta here!
The projects really let me delve deep and learn.
I don't normally like projects, but the way that you set them up was helpful.

  1. How did I do with your groups for projects? choose 2
I liked working in groups. The thoughts of others help me to think more too. I like working together with people. It makes it more fun.
I did well in group work settings. I like having other people's skills to pool together... like drawing or writing good descriptions.
Group work is ok. I only like it when I get to work with my friends.
I still have mixed feelings about group work. Sometimes people don't do their "share" and still get as good of a grade as others who do more than their share. Also, some groups pick on people in them. I would like it better if I could pick my group.
Please, oh please, don't make me work with other people! Leave me alooooone!!!!
I liked how you let us choose our groups and topics.
I developed better skills as a group member.

  1. What kinds of goals did you reach this year in school? choose 2
    I got straight A's.
I learned and remembered as much as possible and got the best grades possible, almost straight A's.
    I got all A's and B's.
I learned and remembered as much as possible and got all A's and B's.
    A's, B's, C's.... I didn't FAIL anything....
I don't think that grades really matter. I just want to learn as much as possible.
Goals? You want me to set Goals?
