  1. The "Organization of American States" is like the United Nations, but focused on diplomacy among countries in the Americas. Every year WFS sends about 20 students to a 4-day conference in Washington DC where they present and debate resolutions with other students from many schools. To prepare for this event, candidates meet once a cycle during lunch beginning on January, for a December conference. Might you be interested in taking part?  


  1. The QuizBowl Club meets once a cycle during lunch to engage in friendly competition between 4-person teams answering questions that test knowledge of the world and academic subjects. They also prepare for competitions against 4-person teams from other schools. Might you be interested in taking part?  


  1. The World Affairs Club meets once a cycle during lunch to debate timely topics of public controversy in international affairs or US politics. Might you be interested in taking part?  


  1. Wilmington Friends organizes a Geography School-Wide Competition once a year, after school, in November, in the week before Winter Sports begin. Students answer sets of geography questions of rising difficulty, and the highest scorers win recognition as the champions for their grade, or division, and book prizes. Might you be interested in taking part? 


  1. The Delaware Opera invites students to attend dress rehearsals of the famous operas La Traviata (set in 19th Century Paris), on mid-November and The Merry Widow (set in 19th Century Vienna), in May. They give a fascinating, insight into 19th century Europe! I organize WFS groups' free attendance to the dress rehearsals. Might you be interested in taking part? 


  1. The Diplomacy Club meets once a cycle during lunch to carry out multi-week competitions among players simulating the strategic and diplomatic struggle for mastery in Europe among the Great Powers at the beginning of the 20th Century. Might you be interested in taking part? 


  1. The Invisible Children Club meets once a cycle during lunch to carry out activities to help to end the misery caused by the "Lord's Resistance Army" in central Africa. Might you be interested in taking part?
