Systems Training Needs - (copy)
There are many technological systems now in place at Leeds City College and staff are understandably suffering from system saturation. The descriptions below briefly explain what each system does. There is also an opportunity to inform us if this system is a training need for you. Training would be at an introductory level. For intermediate or advanced training in any of these systems please use the free response boxes.
There is a growing digital divide in the College which is characterised by those that have access to the technological systems below and those that do not. Those that do not have access are at a disadvantage and the impact on their teaching and professional development can be significant.
Please take advantage of this audit to allow us to help you.

- EMAIL
Although used predominantly for emailing colleagues and students, Office Outlook also includes a Calendar, Task Manager, Contact Manager and other features. Outlook has now established itself as the communicative hub through which the College functions. Staff without access to Outlook are often at a disadvantage because they miss out on important College information and CPD opportunities.

- MOODLE
Moodle is the College’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). It provides an online area where tutors can share learning materials with their students. In the first instance, tutors typically use their area to place documentation that might have been used in the classroom. Moving on from a repository approach to the VLE, tutors should be looking to create courses with a focus on interaction and collaborative construction of content.
