California Prop 19 - Legalize Marijuana?

  1. California Proposition 19 is an initiative on the ballot placed there by citizens signatures in California. The question is whether to legalize marijuana in small doses for those 21 years or older.

    PRO (For) Decriminalizing marijuana would make it legal. It would take organized crime and the cartels out of the marijuana business. The state could tax it and make money. And individuals who smoke would not be labeled as criminals.

    CON (against) The above reasons are true, BUT marijuana is still a gateway drug for many young people. It sends the wrong message that you can escape reality with drugs and will only increase the appetite for still more powerful and deadly narcotics. The state should not make money by selling the souls of our young people into the drug world.
    Yes, I agree that marijuana should be legalized.
    No, don't legalize marijuana. It leads to bigger problems.
