Break Out Session Sign Ups for December 3rd

Please pick TWO break out sessions to attend. Each session will be 30 minutes in length.

Collaboration: This session will focus on how to establish collaborative activities within your classroom in order to increase student achievement and cohesion.

Fishbowl/Socratic Seminar/Philosophical Chairs: This session will focus on different discussion techniques that you can use within your classroom. Fishbowl, Socratic Seminar, and Philosophical Chairs allow students to be in charge of wielding the discussion while the teacher acts as the facilitator.

Culturally-Relevant Team-Building Activities: This session focuses on team-building activities (not icebreakers). Recognizing culture will allow for a sense of solidarity.

Creating a Sense of Community in the Classroom: This session focuses on why cultivating a climate of mutual respect and accountability can improve student learning and ways to create and sustain community.
