  1. Signaling Merit Badge on Wednesday, December 22, in bldg 1561 (Troop 49's Scout Hut on the east side--northernmost tower dayroom). NOTE: This is a challenging merit badge and requires work done ahead of time (including this Monday) if you intend to complete. See Mr. Holladay's email of December 19 for more information.   1. Tracking and Pathfinding Historic Merit Badges at Tama: Wednesday, December 29. The plan is for interested scouts to meet at the Troop 45 Scout Hut on Wednesday morning, go to Tama to work on the merit badge and eat lunch, and to return that night. You are welcome to attend even if you have earned the two merit badges. Class B event. 1=definite "yes"; 5=definite "no".*

  1. IMPERIAL PATROL MEMBERS ONLY; Dec. 28-29: It has been proposed that the older patrol have its own campout on the night of December 28 at Tama Hills; Imperial Patrol members would leave for Tama Tuesday afternoon and stay through the Wednesday merit badge activities listed above. The Imperial Patrol would plan their own activities for that Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning. 1=definite "yes"; 5=definite "no".

  1. Mr. Keith Johnson is willing to give scouts one last opportunity to earn the Carpentry Historic Merit Badge before December 31, 2010. We do not have a date/time, yet, but would you be interested in working on this activity (scouts who've already earned the badge would be welcome to participate as well--as helpers or building a new craft).

  1. January 8-9: Pre-Klondike Cold-Weather Camping; this is an important cold-weather camping experience at Yokota to ensure that scouts are prepared (proper clothing, sleeping bags, and gear) before the true Klondike experience at the end of January.   1. January 9: Mochi Pounding as guests of our sister Hamura troop; event is only a 10 minute ride from the Fussa gate; we will leave the base at 10AM; any who do not camp with us (see #3) can meet us at the Fussa Gate. We should return around 1PM. Class A event. 1=definite "yes"; 5=definite "no".*

  1. January 16: Frostbite Run support. Troop 45 will man its usual water station by the Par 3 at this event--Striders is an important supporter of the Boy Scouting program, so it is good for Scouts and Scout families to help here, if at all possible! Class A event, all Sunday morning--Committee Chair John Panasiewicz is the POC and will send out more information. 1=definite "yes"; 5=definite "no".*
