Stanislaus COE Online Learning Survey for SCOE School Districts
The Stanislaus County Office of Education in partnership with CTAP Region 6 is establishing the Online Learning Network for the 2011-12 school year. This is in response to requests from districts to further all of our knowledge about online learning. Completing this Needs Assessment should take about 10-15 minutes and will help us to know how to best structure the Online Learning Network for the school year. Please complete this online survey by *** Mon. Sept. 12, 2011 ***
**DEFINITIONS**
For the purposes of this Needs Assessment, the following definitions are being used:
*ONLINE LEARNING*: is a course that is taught with content that is more than 75% online, where the teacher is delivering the majority of the curriculum to students from a distance, and students are completing most course work online.
*BLENDED LEARNING*: is a course that blends online and face-to-face delivery where a substantial proportion (30% to 79%) of the content is delivered online. Some coursework and teaching takes place in a face-to-face classroom and some coursework and teaching takes place online.
(Allen & Seaman, 2007.
Sloan Consortium)
Note: The definitions of Online learning or blended learning would not include a teacher who uses a website for a lesson, posts lesson plans on the web, keeps a blog, or emails with students and parents.
