WWI Propaganda
As a means to provoke certain feelings and/or actions, propaganda has been used in times of war frequently. WWI, for example, produced some intriguing works of propaganda that certianly triggered feelings of nationalism, hate for the enemy, and persuaded Americans to enlist.
