- We are always happy to hear the views of parents and offer several opportunities for parents to be involved in school life. The School Governance Committee (SGC) is a group drawn from across the community and acts as critical friend to the school. Friends of John Buchan is our parents' association and helps organise events. Both groups are important and play a valuable role in the life of the school. We are always looking for volunteers to join these groups. If you are interested then please leave your name and a contact e-mail address or phone number and someone will contact you, or please contact the school for more information.
