- THIS SECTION IS INTENDED TO SURVEY THE RELEVANCE OF THE VARIOUS TOPICS STUDIED IN COMP II/AP LANG:
The in depth study of education (unit 1) was highly engaging and relevant.

- The various readings and study of obedience to authority (unit 2) was highly engaging and relevant.
|
- The study of Aldous Huxley's Brave New World was framed in a way that proved its relevance to modern society.
|
- The study of excess in America forced me to reconsider the values of society and reassess my own personal values.
|
- A variety of mediums (video, novel, non-fiction text, music, web, etc.) was used to introduce each unit of study.
|
- Overall, was the balance of time spent on the units effective? Did the units feel like they were dragging? Or, did you feel like we rushed any of the units?

- Overall, did these topics encourage critical thinking? Did they encourage you to view the world in a new way? Did they impact your thinking in other classes? Did they promote constructive discussion among your peers?

The reading assignments were challenging and consistently assigned.

- I felt accountable for reading the assignments in order to be prepared for discussion or questions.

- I consistently used the annotation strategy throughout the semester.

- The formal written assignments (The Debate, Obedience Synthesis, Persuasive Research Synthesis) encouraged in-depth thinking and required time, commitment, and professionalism in order to be successful.

- The in-class writings encouraged strong organizational skills and promoted the development of ideas in writing.
