The purpose of this survey is to reflect on the instructional practices of the reading course of study in its first year of implementation. The survey results will be reviewed by the curriculum committee this summer and presented during the grade level summer staff development sessions.     COMPREHENSION TOOLKIT: Did your work with the Toolkit this year influence your teaching of strategies when using Lead 21 materials and Shared Reading Novels? What are your thoughts about this for next year?


    MANAGEMENT: How do you manage the 90 minute reading block? How do you structure small group instruction to ensure that you meet with multiple groups?


    SMALL GROUP INSTRUCTION: Discuss small group instruction for students in advanced, benchmark, and strategic groups. How did instruction differ in each group? Was there an appropriate level of challenge in each group?


    INDEPENDENT READING: How do you make independent reading a priority during the reading block? How do you schedule it? How do you promote student accountability?
