December Scholarship Survey

Hey! We have two scholarships we need to vote on in the month of December. The purpose of this survey is for you to send me nominations. After I receive the nominations, I will send out another survey to vote on the students that were selected.

1. Martin Luther King, Jr. "Light of Hope" Recognition
- Student with community service hours, positive influence on campus, and is a good representation of Varina High School.
- Student selected is invited to Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration Association's program at Henrico High in January
- No scholarship money, just recognition
- last year we selected Chelsea Hooper, year before Kathleen Wilcox

2. Interfaith Brotherhood - Sisterhood Youth Awards Program
- Student who has shown outstanding achievement in improving human relations and intergroup understanding among her/his fellow students, has ability to relate to others well, voice of reason in potentially confrontational situations, shows empathy towards others, and participates in activities that improve human relationships, reaches out to others within the school and greater community.
- Student will need to submit an essay on "The Golden Rule" to be considered for the scholarship
- Award: $500
- Awards dinner in February for all nominated students.
