- Other than testing and other school interruptions to our schedule, what other barriers did you have while trying to prepare for AP Chemistry units, tests, and the AP Exam? Be specific about things that you personally dealt with and what might could be done to help over come those barriers. Limit response to 10 lines. *
- For each of the following major concepts, please indicate whether we covered the topic thoroughly enough for you to recognize these concepts on the AP Exam. 10 would be the best score meaning that we covered the material thoroughly in class and had examples and ample time to understand the concept in general. 0 would mean you don't even remember us discussing such concepts and never had any practice problems related to that topic.
TOPIC 1: Stoichiometry Problems*
- Thermochemistry: Enthalpy, Calorimetry, Heat Energy transfer (q)*
- Entropy, Gibbs Free Energy*
- Electrochemistry - Galvanic and Electrolytic Cells, REDOX reactions*
- Kinetics - rates, 0 order, 1st order, 2nd order, 1/2 life*
- General Equilibrium *
- Ksp, solubility equilibrium*
- Acid-Base Equilibrium, Titrations & Neutralizations, RICE Tables, (excluding buffers)*
- Buffers (I know that time was an issue on this one but rank on how well the videos helped you. Add comments in later part if you never watched any of the videos including notes & Zoom/Moodle that related to Buffers and/or practice problem videos for buffers.)
- Atomic Structure, Bonding, Lewis Structures, Periodicity Trends, Electron Configuration, VESPR (consider this as reinforcement from year 1 and how well the short time we had to reinforce this helped you remember these or go a bit deeper with formal charge & Coulomb's Law that were new and other factors we worked with that related to these concepts.) *
- Which areas do you feel like you learned and remembered the most from the year? What were your favorite topics? 5 lines available.*
- What topics were you weakest at and needed to spend more time on or needed to review or we needed additional instruction with. Were there any topics we spent too much time on that we could reduce the amount of time spent on those? up to 7 lines available for response*
- Are you glad you took AP chemistry this year? *
- Would you recommend AP Chemistry to other students? *
- Do you plan to take courses in college that relate to chemistry or plan to have a career that requires chemistry? *
- Do you feel like you had a good year in AP Chemistry and had the opportunity to learn a great deal of new material that will help you with college? *
- Would you take the AP Chemistry Exam if you had to pay for the exam with no chance of reimbursement? *
- Would you take the AP Chemistry Exam if you had to pay for the exam but had a chance to get your money back if you made at least a 2 and get a bonus if you scored 3 or above. This would be to help avoid those who simply take the test to get a 5.0 GPA scale but who do not really study or attempt do their best on AP exams.*
- Did you do additional preparation for the AP Exam besides what was required to do from class such as watch additional Moodle/Zoom reviews, spend time reviewing notes, taking more quizzes online and researching previous questions and answers that were released online to help you be better acquainted with possible test questions. *
- Do you think we had enough labs for the year? We had over 20 labs and had more that we couldn't get to due to losing so many days of testing, etc. *
- Do you think that having the formal lab reports due only during first semester and dropping this requirement for 2nd semester was adequate? *
- Do we need spend more class time discussing lab results? *
- Did you study at home at least 2 hours per week for AP chemistry? *
- Please indicate which resources you used and were most helpful to you. Which resources were not helpful or not as useful.
Consider all of the following when responding. Please give me any additional information or explanations you can.
1) Textbook - chapter information and reading the book
2) Notes Packets
3) Presentations with computer
4) Webpage & links from webpage along with presentations
5) Quest online homework
6) Sciencegeek
7) AP Practice Problems - free response handout packets
8) Quizzes - short quizzes - most from AAIMS
9) Other handouts such as homework pages that were not the free response packets from AP.
10) Lab Reports
11) Computer Games and Activities such as Quia review and LeChatlier's online computer lab
12) Textbook quizzes and problems with some answers in back to check work. (didn't assign very much this year but did previous year before having some other resources)
13) Concept Review Packets - these are ones I used recently that summarize certain concepts; we did some of these on optional review days as well
14) Quick Questions with "King of the Hill" review game
15) Team Games - whiteboards, race games, partner problem solving
16) Moodle/Zoom Video
17) Video Lectures by NMSI (for notes packets & for AP free response packet answers)
18) Saturday and after school review days
19) Mock Exam
20) Remind 101 & Newsletters & e-mail reminders
21) Other - explain

- On a scale from 0 to 10, how would you rank me as a teacher with relation to each of the categories. Some of these also relate to assignments. I am always trying to make improvements and become a better teacher. I always know areas that I want to and need to improve upon and with your feedback it will continue to help me be the best I can be for my future students. 0 is the lowest score and 10 is the best score*
- What did you like best about this class? What did you like the least? What would you definitely keep the same? What would you specifically like to see me change to help students more especially since we are going on a 7 period day next year. Include any other comments. 50 lines to respond.*
- After reviewing the free response and answers on my podcast page, what type of score do you expect to get on the AP Exam and which reason is the best that fits where applicable. *
