    Keep below the level of the top of the trench and look out from time to time.
    Keep constant watch with just your head peering over the trench.
    Keep a constant watch with your body and head above the trench.


  1. How did you react to your soldiers holding lighted matches to their jackets?
    Ignore their behavior and walk past.
    Threaten to punish them if they do not take proper care of their uniforms.


  1. What advice did you give your men as you sent them them across No Man's Land?
    Reassure your men that the Germans will not be a threat
    Tell them to be fully prepared for heavy German resistance


  1. What orders do you give your soldiers after the explosion?
    After 10 minutes, send your men across flat ground, which has not been churned up by the mine.
    Wait 10 minutes then try to occupy the crater created by the explosion.
    Ignore orders and immediately send your men into the cloud of dust and earth.


  1. Did you lead your men out of the trench or wait for all your men to get out first?
    Put yourself at risk by climbing up first and standing on top of the trench to encourage your men.
    Make sure all your men are out of the trench then follow them.
