- I take some flack from people about having favor passes because it does give extra time, but I am comfortable with using favor passes: some kids might not need extra time, some kids get extra help when others don't, some kids have things that happen at home that make it amazing they even come to school let alone get work completed, some kids have learning disabilities but are not classified...etc., and kids who don't use them get two points added onto their average as a reward-so it's a win-win!! So, the issue here isn't favor passes. The issue here is should students be able to use a favor pass on the research paper/genres assignment due the day before break? I want to have this conversation ahead of time because I want to be FAIR to everyone!

- If a student uses a favor pass, there should be a cut off date of January 4-the day we come back? Do know that if a person does not turn the paper in, the highest grade possible that individual can receive is about a 46% which would threaten the ability to graduate.
