  1. Given the reality that students have very few electives at the 1000 level, in your experience, what classes do students want to take as electives.

  1. When students describe their language learning experiences prior to Landmark, do they tend to be positive, neutral, or negative?

  1. Do you find it easy or difficult to get students interested in taking a language class?

  1. Do you find it difficult to fit a language class into a student's schedule given the reality of scheduling challenges?

  1. Do you have students who think about meeting a language requirement at a future school, or are they primarily focused on meeting the requirements for Landmark?

  1. We are currently trying to improve our language placement system. Suggestions?

  1. Once your advisee has taken a language course here at Landmark, do they tend to want to continue?

  1. Do your students express interest in languages we do not offer? If so, which ones?

  1. Currently, one WL class is a requirement for students in the BALST program. However, if those students want to continue with the language, they find they have already taken all the 1000 and 2000 level classes they need. Taking a second class in the language then becomes a very expensive option, since they are taking a class that does not move them towards graduation. Is that your experience?

  1. How do you feel about a WL class being a requirement at the non-BA level?

  1. Do you think it would be appropriate for students to be able to choose art or a WL class to fulfill the creative expression requirement?

  1. When in the schedule would you like to see WL classes offered?

  1. If Landmark College did make taking a WL class a requirement at the non-BA level, do you feel there are students for whom a waiver might be appropriate?

  1. In your experience, what motivates students to want to take a WL here at Landmark?

  1. In the past, many students in LIC or partial credit would take a language course because it was one of the few ways they had of earning credit. Students at this level have been allowed to take a math, art, music or a language. We have been getting fewer of these students. Do you have thoughts about why?

  1. Any other thoughts you would like to add?
