Second Chance Leadership position voting. We will be voting on the first two leadership positions. Applicants are listed in alphabetical order. Make sure you read the position description carefully below. Put the applicants most preferred first, second most preferred second etc. Good luck girls :)

  1. Position: Chairperson
    Chairperson- Must demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills, be genuinely passionate and committed to the service and lead by example.
    • Host weekly meetings.
    • Be prepared to speak on School, Year and House assemblies, introduce/ thank guests when required.
    • Organise upcoming agendas in consultation with the Secretary and Co-ordinator.
    • Keep reasonably up to date with the current literature on women’s homelessness (Co-ordinator will assist you in this).
    • Become familiar with the charities/ services Second Chance Supports and what they provide within the community.
    • Organise a working events calendar for Second Chance (one Semester only).
    • Liaise with other relevant student leaders within the school to promote Second Chance, and look for opportunities to work with other service groups.
    • Be prepared to liaise/ communicate with students from other schools who have established, or want to set up, their own Second Chance Committee.
    • Take on primary responsibility for the Second Chance stall during Open Day.
    • Periodically communicate with the external Second Chance Program to keep members abreast of what the school committee is doing (this may include being present at an external meeting at some point during the Semester also).

  1. Position: Secretary
    Must be organised, able to attend most meeting to take notes and roll and have a real passion and commitment to the service.
    • Keep the school’s webpage on the Second Chance Program’s website up to date.
    • Update Moodle.
    • Utilise opportunities to promote SC events in advance e.g.- whole school, House and Year Assemblies.
    • Liaise with the appropriate student leaders/ service captains to help promote SC events.
    • Organise appropriate media e.g.- cameras/ videos to document and promote events/ workshops/ activities etc...
    • Organise/ take responsibility for promotional material e.g.- posters/ pamphlets/ videos.
    • Work closely with Chairperson, and Secretary to try and develop new/effective ways of raising funds.
