  1. Presenter: Teri Rudolph
    Title: Conferring in the Writing Workshop Model
    Summary: In this session, teachers will learn the architecture of conferring with students about their writing. Often times we overwhelm students with too much information and too many teaching points. We leave them wondering what to revise. Learn the steps to effectively moving your writers to the next level.
    Date: January 31st
    Location: Coaches’ room
    Bring: Teachers should bring 1-2 student writing samples. They do NOT need to be graded.

    Presenter: Travonnie Mackey
    Title: Effective Problem Solving Lessons
    Summary: We will revisit the 3 different math lesson plan structures (direct instruction, problem solving & inquiry). Teachers will experience a model problem solving lesson that follows our LES lesson structure. Teachers will revisit their AKS for the upcoming week and plan out a problem solving lesson to use with students.

    Presenter: Karlene Hamilton
    Title: Striving Readers Instructional Strategies
    Summary: No two readers are alike! You've tried everything in your toolbox to support that reader who just cannot seem to "get it". There's hope! "Striving Readers" strategies target students at the following levels: Phonemic Awareness; Word Recognition and Fluency; Fluency and Comprehension; Vocabulary and Comprehension. Learn where your students are and how to differentiate for each one.

    Title: How to Use the Fountas and Pinnell Leveled Literacy Intervention Kit
    Summary: The Fountas and Pinnell Leveled Literacy Intervention is a great way to improve a student's reading and comprehension skills. Come and learn the basics of the F and P LLI kit. We will look into what the kit is, what the components of the program are, sample lessons, and how to get started.
    Dates: Janaury 17th and January 31st (This is a two-part training – both Sessions must be attended)

    Presenter: Juliann Terrell
    Title: Engage Your Students with a Non- Fiction Text Using AR 360
    Summary: AR 360 is an amazing tool that will allow your students to access non-fiction texts on their level, as well as reading about topics that are interesting and engaging. You can tailor your lessons to specific topics of need such as main idea, sequencing, and inferencing. Students are able to engage with text on the screen and it's great practice for those Milestone and DAs. Come and check out how AR 360 can supplement and enrich your lessons!

    Title: I have my scores. What do they mean?
    Summary: This session will explain how to read CogAt and IOWA test scores and what they mean. I will provide tips on how answer parent questions and what to look for to identify potentially gifted students.
