Cohen Busbee as the 6th grade FLYing Hawk because he is always helpful and is willing to work with and assist his peers. He never interrupts the class and is very mindful of his surroundings. When it is time to play a game for review, he is all about it. He is well-deserving of this award!
Cole Powers is polite, respectful, and always ready to lend a hand. He is friendly and has a fun sense of humor. Cole always thanks me for teaching him as he leaves class.
Jason Sun is a kind student, always willing to help out a peer and his teachers. He always volunteers to stay a couple minutes after class to help stack the remaining chairs and put away supplies and never looks for a reward. He is a diligent and hardworking student who strives to always do his best and learn from his mistakes.
Calvin Upshur - There is not a nicer kid on this grade level. He is, possibly, one of the nicest, coolest kids I have ever taught. Every single morning and every single afternoon, he has popped his head in my classroom to say “HAVE A GOOD DAY” I have him first block and, even on the days he is late, he walks up, shakes my hand and asks me how my night was or says,”Good morning.”
Jordan Wilkerson is a conscientious student who enjoys learning. She is responsible for her work and helpful to her peers and teachers. Jordan is a good role model for other Hawks!
Ayisha Surani stands above and beyond her peers for numerous reasons. Ayisha's study habits are outstanding with taking notes while lessons are being taught, seeking help during study hall with questions or helping her peers with concepts others are confused about. Ayisha has a smile on her face every day, looks in a person's eyes when she speaks to them and is always considerate of other’s feelings.
Margaret (Maggie) Hiatt, she is an all-around good student, and is kind to everyone. Maggie always seems to be happy, and is very friendly.
Maya McClellan – Maya is an overall amazing student. She is always on top of her work, always prepared, and always has a great attitude. She is super helpful around the classroom, and she is willing to help students who are struggling or need help catching up. She can brighten anyone’s cloudy day and is an amazing student.
Ethan Pace for the Flying Hawk Award. Ethan is a ball of positive energy! He comes into class each morning with a smile on his face and a greeting for me. In terms of academics, he puts forth his best effort on every assignment. In study hall, when his peers will choose to group study or play a review game together, Ethan will often choose to buckle down and study in a quiet spot. Prior to our recent marking period tests, he went around to some of his teachers asking for extra practice, so he could improve even further. I wish every student were more like Ethan: diligent, kind, positive, and perfect definition of what it means to be a Hawk!
