STOP DOING Survey
In an effort to become more efficient and cost-conscience, administration has developed a list of possible processes that may be discontinued. We would like your feedback regarding these processes. Please read each of the following items and select one of three responses: Yes, I agree we can discontinue doing this; No, I do not feel we can discontinue doing this; I DO NOT KNOW. Your feedback is very important. Please submit your responses by Friday, September 13, 2019.

- Stop using the Community Services Center (CSCE) for anything other than storage.

- Stop creating and printing the master course schedule. Instead develop a highly interactive we tool.
|
- Stop globally printing. Use Outlook or Google Drive for meeting agendas and materials.
|
- Stop closing on Fridays in the summer.
|
- Stop cleaning all of the offices every night. However, public areas should still be cleaned every night.
|
- Stop producing paper POs.
|
- Stop producing paper contracts. Utilize EchoSign to sign contracts.
|
- Stop mailing of payroll stubs and make direct deposit the default.
|
- Stop using tech. support for internal events, such as starting people's PowerPoint. Instead, train people to use the IT equipment.

- Stop videotaping interviews and uploading them online.

- ?????? Stop all of the inter-corporate transactions/journal entries. ???????

- Stop Top Scholars Nights (attendance has been falling off drastically in the past several years).

- Stop requiring Accuplacer for incoming students.
|
- Stop holding the College and Career Night (attendance has been dropping for the last several years).

- Stop attending certain college fairs (many are expensive and ineffective).
|
- Stop allowing uncoordinated fundraising requests without the involvement of the Foundation.

- Stop hard copy distribution of correspondence, including appointment letters, step increase letters, annual faculty letters, termination letters, etc. and replace with electronic correspondence via EchoSign (Human Resources)

- Stop off-list reference checks as part of the interview process.
|
- Stop maintenance of Excel spreadsheets for employee information. Instead, utilize Banner reporting.
|
- Stop paper processing of requests such as sick bank participation, FSA membership, vacation sell-back requests, and annual health insurance rebate, and move to electronic processing.

- Stop time card data entry for buildings and grounds.
|
- Stop one-on-one meetings with new hires regarding benefits, except by request. Instead, conduct group benefits orientation for new hires.

- Stop six-week grade e-mails sent to advisors listing which advisees have two or more D's and F's (this is time-intensive with no impact evidence).

- ??? Stop coordinating administrative tasks unrelated to the function of the learning center (e.g., INT 1520; Starfish; Guided Pathways leadership; committee work). ???

- Stop monitoring online APS students for registration status - can be done by clerical staff/student assistants.

- ??? Stop sorting lists and sending to divisions (advisor assignments, students who need registered, etc.) - should be done by clerical staff. ???

- Stop personal counseling. Create partnerships with Family Services to provide counseling.

- Stop Placement Testing.

- Stop requiring graduation applications. They should be automatic with the student "opting out" of the process.

- Stop manual loan acceptance process and use Banner to automate acceptance.
|
- Stop offering open enrollment remedial courses (i.e., ESL open enrollment courses), but retain co-sponsored programs with partners such as BOCES.

- Stop offering open enrollment courses for math, reading, and writing; retain co-sponsored programs with partners such as BOCES and Upward Bound.

- Stop offering DMV five-hour pre-licensing course in Jamestown and Dunkirk.
|
- Stop offering insurance and points reduction courses in Olean; reduce the frequency of offerings in Jamestown and Dunkirk.

- Stop offering summer youth and adult programs (i.e., youth and adult sailing) in Jamestown and Dunkirk.
