Indicator 3.01 Audio Key Terms

Sounds are generated when the air is disturbed, creating vibrations called sound waves. These sound waves travel to our ears, where they cause vibrations in the structures of the middle and inner ear. Our ears change these vibrations into signals sent along nerves to our brain, which interprets them as sound.
