Homework: Journal--Machiavelli's statement, "the ends justify the means," seems to repeatedly come up in our course. Please explain in your own words what this statement means once again, so Mr. Deger knows that you get it.
Next, apply this statement to the Industrial Revolution/Industrialism. I want to know if you believe the ends justify the means for this particular unit. Think about the Mill Worker Activity we did earlier this week in class. Think back to the positive and negative effects of industrialism stated in your textbook or class notes and use them as support. Finally, use some retrospect to evaluate your overall attitude of Industrialism. You are living 200+ years after this time period. How has it affected your life? Positively? Negatively?
Please write a journal entry/reflection in which you discuss each of these questions/points. Your reflection should be roughly one page long (at least 8-10 sentences), and it will be graded using the rubric below.
