


While aboard the "Keyboarding Cruise Liner" students will "set sail" to different destinations to engage in activities to enhance their knowledge and understanding about computer hardware, software and advancements in technology. While docked at McClure Middle School, I strive to engage students in enriching activities that can be applied to everyday life. The hands-on activities that are provided for the students promote continuous and unforgetable learning.
Each grade level will "set sail" to complete three business enriched units of study. Each unit will last approximately three or more weeks. Ports of Call for 8th Grade students:
Careers and Colleges Continent-Students will identify their current interest and match them to a future career and college choice.
Wanna Key Island-Students will enhance and develop keyboarding skills.
Entrepreneurship Island-Students will learn about entrepreneurship skills and traits and develop a new business idea.
Ports of Call for 7th Grade students:
Computer Literacy Lagoon-Students will learn the functions of computer hardware and software.
Wanna Key Island-Students will enhance and develop keyboarding skills.
Banking and Finance Island-Students will learn about the history of money and practice check writing, making deposits and balancing a checking account.
Ports of Call for 6th Grade students:
Computer Literacy Lagoon-Students will learn the evolution of computers and their purpose in the world of information technology.Wanna Key Island-Students will learn proper keyboarding techniques and develop keyboarding skills.
Advertising Island-Students will learn the tricks of advertising and create a new cereal advertisement.
