Open and Closed Pottery Shapes

Archaeologists describe pot shapes as being either open or closed based on how large the mouth of the vessel is. Open shapes, like plates and cups, were used for things needing easy access. Closed shapes, like jugs and perfume bottles, were used for things people didn't want to spill. In this game you get to match up various open and closed pottery shapes to their various uses. Use the Greek open and closed shape downloads above to help you out! (And when you're done you can check for open and closed shaped vessels at your house too!)
